TITLE: Manager of Youth & Family Programs (in person)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Manager of Educational Programs
FLSA STATUS: Salary/Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
We want the Manager of Youth & Family Programs to be a creative and energetic individual who is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of museum programs for youth, families, and the public. These programs include, but are not limited to: seasonal and pop-up camps; Family Days and community partnership programs; and educational internships and volunteers. The Manager of Youth and Family Programs is encouraged to grow partnerships with other organizations to enhance content with cooperative programming. They will also help create and deliver school and teacher content through daily field trip teaching and assisting with Family History Nights and other initiatives as well as special projects for the Education Department. This position is required to learn all Frazier Museum curricula and acquire a strong working knowledge of museum exhibitions and subject matter. Job responsibilities will also include occasional tours, creation of content for Frazier+ videos, and writing for Frazier Weekly. A working knowledge of social media, marketing, and graphics is a plus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Manages the development, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of programming for youth and family audiences.
· Manages schedules, content, and staffing for youth and family programs and camp programming (campers are on-site 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., arrival time for this position is 8 a.m. during camps)
· Manages the Museum’s Education Department internship program and the teen volunteer force used in youth and family–related programming.
· Assists the Senior Manager of Educational Programs in developing the budget for youth and family–related programs. Monitors revenues and expenses of all youth and family programs and projects. Helps develop goals and objectives for youth and family programming.
· Collaborates with the Development Department to identify grants to support programming for youth and family audiences. Manages expenses, data, and necessary paperwork for grants acquired.
· Assists the Educational Programming Team with development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives, including teaching and giving tours.
· Seeks out and builds relationships with community partners to help expand and augment museum programming.
· Manages partnerships with local universities and high schools to support internship bases and Educational programming.
· Serves as Education liaison for Marketing team, creating promotional materials, updating museum website, and creating and implementing marketing plans for Education programming as needed. Assists with social media for the Education Team.
· Collaborates with the Guest Services Team on the process for reservation and confirmation of youth and family programs.

· Assumes other duties as assigned, including tours, Frazier+, Frazier Weekly, and some administrative responsibilities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum bachelor’s degree in Education, Public History, or subject related to the museum’s scope and purpose and/or job responsibilities. Master’s Degree is a plus.
· Experience in successfully developing, coordinating, and implementing programs and/or special events. Experience in a school, museum, or other informal learning institution is strongly desirable.
· Experience working with youth (preschool–middle), youth groups, and/or families.
· Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, time-management, and project management abilities. Includes creation of camps, oversight, communication to parents, as well as some marketing of camps.
· Ability to make learning a fun and engaging experience with an emphasis on sharing a diverse range of stories and perspectives.
· Supervisory experience of volunteers or contract staff is a plus.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
WORKING & PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
· Typically 40 hours a week, generally Monday–Friday. Regular core hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
· Saturdays, Sundays, or evenings as required.
· Typical physical demands include walking, standing, climbing stairs, hearing, and lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
· Driver’s license and transportation for occasional off-site errands.
